“What does it take to make sandwiches or, to find a new toothbrush or a comb and give them to a needy human being? Caring…”
“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in…” ~ Matthew 25:35-40
Shepherd’s Way Street Ministries
Shepherd’s Way (SW) offers four street ministries to help the homeless: SW Street Lunch, SW Help With Basics, Water for the Thirsty and Clothing & Footwear. In these ministries, volunteers take to the streets with prepared lunches/snack packs, personal hygiene kits, and bottled water and present them to people in need in the name of Jesus. People are asked if Shepherd’s Way can help them with clothing and footwear which is then provided if available. Through the Help With Basics and Clothing & Footwear ministries, we also partner with churches, food banks and homeless shelters to supply them with items that they can use to help the homeless in their communities.
Sponsors and Partners Program
The Shepherd’s Way ‘Sponsors and Partners Program’ affords churches, charitable organizations, individuals, and businesses the opportunity to join with Shepherd’s Way in helping the homeless.
Sponsors can either pledge financial contributions to Shepherd’s Way for the purchase of food, water clothing, footwear, or basic hygiene items or, they can go to a ‘list of needs’ created by us and pledge to supply us with specific items (e.g. toothbrushes). Shepherd’s Way will use the donated items in its ministries and also provide partners (e.g. homeless shelter, charitable organization helping the homeless, food bank) with goods for their programs.
Hope and Awareness Academy
The Hope and Awareness Academy (the Academy) offers a ministry of hope for individuals suffering from chronic homelessness, addiction and other issues. Through the teachings and blessings of our Lord and Savior Jesus, this program seeks to change the lives of people who are despairing and hurting.
The Academy addresses the whole person from a physical, mental and spiritual perspective. It challenges individuals to develop a greater awareness of the path they need to follow to live a happy, peaceful and productive life.
The Hope and Awareness Academy is open Thursday afternoons from 2:00-4:00 PM.
Shepherd’s Way services are offered to individuals regardless of their religion, race, color, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, political affiliation, ethnicity, or national origin.
